Swedish Prison and Probation Service is looking for a psychologist in work and organizational psychology

Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

We are now looking for a psychologist in work and organizational psychology for the unit for operational HR who wants to be part of developing an authority in change. The unit is currently led by a unit manager and 8 section managers who, together with the employees, constitute the operational HR support for the managers of the operations and the head office.

The unit consists of just over 180 employees who are located at the head office in Norrköping, as well as at the authority's six regional offices and the transport department. The unit's mission is to translate the authority's employer policy and HR strategic direction into initiatives within the HR area, based on the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's mission and goals, the needs and conditions of the operations. The unit manager for operational HR is the process owner and thus has the process responsibility for the authority's recruitment process.

The assignment involves national travel.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service and operational HR are in an intensive development process aimed at creating a more modern selection program where person assessment is introduced as an earlier part of the recruitment process. The goal is to develop and increase the accuracy of recruitment so that today's recruitment procedures better meet tomorrow's demands as modern selection, not least the increased burden that the authority's continued expansion entails. The role focuses on design, governance, and quality assurance of the selection system, rather than conducting individual assessments. You will base your development work on research and evidence. The position also includes collaborating and planning internal training and competence development. Training, methodological support, and knowledge building in the area of selection and recruitment will be a significant part of the work. You will contribute to raising the competence of HR employees and managers through structured training initiatives, methodological guidance, and common working methods in selection and person assessment. After the implementation phase, the role will transition to more managing the assignment.
