Description

As a planning leader, you will be part of the service and citizen influence unit, which supports the city's operations in developing needs-based services, strengthening citizen influence, and contributing to an equitable and sustainable city through service development, dialogue tools, and coordination of sustainability work.

Responsibilities

This planning leader position involves conducting proactive democracy work together with other administrations and companies within the city of Gothenburg. In these contexts, you are an active participant collaborating with civil society organizations and residents on processes regarding citizen participation and influence, especially in northeastern Gothenburg. The work also includes maintaining and developing Gothenburg's infrastructure for local and digital democracy and providing opportunities for influence through meetings and dialogues in various arenas and through different channels. Part of the assignment also consists of needs mapping and the development of decision-making materials for future investments in democracy and participation for residents of Gothenburg.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, a relevant university degree in social sciences, political science, communication science, or equivalent is required. You also need to have:

• Several years of documented experience working with civil society and participating in various networks, as well as experience in social and democratic issues.
• Experience in driving and leading development work or projects/processes within public organizations/politically governed organizations or in other complex contexts.
• Several years of experience working with dialogues and facilitating them.

If you have experience working with local transformation or citizen-driven initiatives, as well as experience working or collaborating in northeastern Gothenburg, it is an advantage. Proficiency in languages other than Swedish and English is also a merit.

You have an easy time communicating and listening to others' viewpoints and perspectives and can make yourself understood to different target groups by expressing yourself well in both speech and writing. You start from the needs of those we serve, adapt your support, and drive active change work. You also have an easy time adapting when conditions change. Additionally, you are driven, have a strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work, and can navigate and analyze various complex contexts. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
