Job Description
An organization specializing in the development of embedded electrical systems is now seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to ensure effective planning, execution, and delivery within an Agile Release Train (ART) (internally referred to as VCT & VCF).
In this role, you will work closely with the Product Manager and Architect to coordinate teams, manage dependencies, and ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and delivery.
Responsibilities
Planning & Execution:
- Lead PI Planning, iteration planning, and cross-functional synchronization.
- Ensure pre-PI readiness and support follow-up and communication after PI.
- Manage ART-level boards, plans, and KPIs.
- Ensure that domain-specific requirements, priorities, and technical prerequisites are integrated into planning and decision-making.
Flow & Delivery Coordination:
- Drive continuous improvements in the delivery flow across teams.
- Support teams in removing obstacles and managing dependencies.
- Facilitate system demos and integration activities.
Roadmaps & Development Process:
- Support the creation of roadmaps together with the Product Manager and Architect.
- Follow up deliveries against milestones and escalate deviations.
- Participate in reviewing architectural decisions, product definitions, and relevant technical documentation.
Risk & Issue Management:
- Facilitate risk analyses and create transparency within the ART.
- Ensure clear communication and structured escalation paths.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead retrospectives at the ART level.
- Identify and drive actions for systemic issues affecting delivery or quality.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Chief Scrum Master, or Agile Program Manager.
- Experience in large-scale product development (preferably within embedded or technically complex environments).
- Practical experience with SAFe or similar scaled agile frameworks.
- Experience in embedded development within larger R&D organizations is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Good understanding of embedded software development and integration.
- Experience with architectural working methods and technical document reviews.
- Familiarity with gated or hybrid development models (e.g., ONEPDP or similar).
Skills & Tools:
- Strong ability to facilitate, coordinate, and manage stakeholders.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and agile planning tools.
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, engineering, or equivalent.
