Operations Technician at LFV

Do you want an important role where you contribute to ensuring stable and reliable communication in a critical service?

LFV is now looking for several service-oriented operations technicians who want to work with the operation, maintenance, and installation of TETRA-related equipment in an environment where quality and safety are a priority. You will work on a new assignment within critical communication that includes troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance of the national radio communication system Rakel.

At LFV, you and your colleagues will ensure reliable and secure communication for essential functions in areas such as public order, safety, health, and total defense.

About the position

As an operations technician at LFV, you will work with the operation, maintenance, and further development of equipment connected to the TETRA network. It is a varied role with both practical and technical elements where your contribution is crucial for communication to function around the clock. The role offers broad skills development and good opportunities to grow within both technology and responsibility.

The work includes field operations where you may need to quickly go out to the site in case of operational disturbances or planned assignments. You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, and have frequent contact with customers and technical teams.

Your main tasks

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and install technical equipment, both independently and in teams.
  • Complex fault analysis and solving various levels of network problems to ensure high system availability.
  • Ensure functionality and availability in Radio, Transmission, and IT equipment.
  • Performance improvements and upgrades of systems, both hardware and software.
  • Create documentation and technical reports.

We are looking for someone who is technically interested and wants to develop in several technical areas. You work in a structured and communicative manner, focusing on documentation, accuracy, and a high level of safety awareness. The role suits you if you enjoy varied tasks and contribute to the team as a whole through engagement and responsibility.

We see that you have:

  • Experience with telecommunication systems, focusing on radio/mobile networks and power supply.
  • Experience with radio technology, transmission, and IT infrastructure or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at heights, mast work for radio links.
  • Experience with technical installation work.
  • Experience with server operation and IP networks.
  • Independent work in the field with a focus on quality and documentation.
  • Manual B driver's license.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Three-year upper secondary education in technology or equivalent.

Meritorious for this position:

  • Experience working in a TETRA environment.
  • Experience with radio technical measurements on antenna systems and radio links.
  • Experience working with critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with firewalls and routing or equivalent.
  • Experience working in project form or technical improvement teams.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (e.g., VMware), server, and storage solutions.

Other information

The position is a permanent employment with the workplace located in Stockholm. On-call duty is included, and overnight stays may occur in the job.

Before employment, LFV conducts a security review that includes a background check, security interview, and drug test. This position requires Swedish citizenship.
