We are now looking for a school counselor for Bjurhovdaskolan, an exciting position that suits you with relevant work experience seeking new challenges!

Your Responsibilities

As a school counselor, your daily life will be an exciting journey through a variety of tasks, all with a common core: to promote the well-being and success of the students. The work involves supporting students through guiding conversations, sometimes with their parents involved. In these conversations, the focus is always on finding solutions rather than getting stuck in problems. As a school counselor with us, you strive to highlight the student's specific strengths and interests, and guide school staff to do the same. You will be part of the overall student health team at the school, which consists of a school doctor, school psychologist, special educator/special teacher, and a school nurse, where you will work together on various student matters. This may involve investigation assignments and collaboration on preventive measures, health-promoting work, and value-based work to ensure an optimal learning environment and safety for each student. Every day, you meet students with different needs and challenges. The goal is to be a safe and supportive resource that contributes to students reaching their full potential. By listening, supporting, and guiding, you work to create an environment where students feel seen, heard, and respected.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another academic education deemed relevant for the position. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to reach the target group. You have relevant current experience for the position and an interest and commitment to work preventively and promote well-being at the organizational, group, and individual levels. If you possess knowledge of languages other than Swedish, we consider it an asset, as well as knowledge of solution-focused working methods and other support functions in society. Experience working with the target group of children and/or adolescents and their guardians, as well as collaboration in teams and with external parties, is also considered an asset.

Interviews may take place continuously during the advertising period.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a personal certificate along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
