Your Responsibilities

Working as a nurse within the Social Administration in Ovanåker Municipality means a varied and stimulating job. You will work with preventive health and medical care in the municipality's Home Care, Special Housing (SÄBO), Short-term Accommodation according to SoL, as well as housing with special services and daily activities according to LSS.

At the Social Administration in Ovanåker Municipality, we can now offer a vacant position as a nurse. This position is a full-time role primarily focused on home care and special housing. The position includes evening shifts and currently working every fourth weekend. During evening and weekend shifts, the employee will work across all of the municipality's areas of responsibility (home care, special housing, and LSS).

As we are a relatively small municipality and nursing unit, employees need to switch main areas when the needs of the operations require it. This way of working fosters team spirit, good collegial cohesion, and makes experience exchange a natural part of our daily routine.

Job Duties

As a nurse, the tasks are varied and include, among other things, caring for palliative patients, meeting individuals with cognitive or mental illnesses, wound care, injections, sample collection, and assessment of various health conditions.

The role also includes mentoring nursing staff, patients, and their relatives. You will be part of a healthcare team together with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehab assistants, nursing assistants, and nurses. You will have close collaboration with unit managers, nursing staff, and primary care physicians.

Experience

Having good communication and collaboration skills, as well as a good approach, is important. You should be attentive, flexible, and able to share knowledge and information in a pedagogical manner.

Qualifications

You are a trained nurse and have a Swedish nursing license.

It is an advantage if you have completed specialist training as a district nurse, dementia nurse, elderly care nurse, or in palliative care.

You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language and be proficient in both spoken and written forms. Good computer skills are a prerequisite for performing the duties as we work in several different IT systems.

A B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.
