Palliative Nurse for the Palliative Unit in Gävleborg

The Palliative Unit is part of the oncology department and consists of four multiprofessional teams in Gävleborg that work with specialized palliative care. Our team includes doctors, nurses, social workers, hospital chaplains, and medical secretaries. The teams coordinate various care efforts and collaborate with the hospital's care departments, municipal home care, and primary care. The unit's mission also includes providing expertise to other actors within palliative care in the region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Take the opportunity to work with us in the palliative team in Hudiksvall to develop specialized palliative care in northern Hälsingland. We are looking for someone who is stimulated by varied tasks and has the ability to work independently in person-centered care. You will be responsible, together with other team members, for the planning and care of patients at home. We offer you a job in palliative care where you have good development opportunities, such as the possibility of specialist nurse training. We work daytime Monday to Friday between 08:00-17:00.

As a nurse with us, you will, among other things:

• provide telephone advice and information to patients and relatives
• collaborate closely with home care nurses and other actors involved in patient care
• conduct home visits together with doctors and/or the team's social worker
• make your own home visits where you, as a nurse, follow up and assess patients' and relatives' needs for care and support
• manage pain pumps, blood transfusions, certain sampling, and dressing changes
• disseminate knowledge in palliative care by conducting training for other healthcare staff.

In the role of nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse
• hold a B driver's license.
