Specialist in Psychiatry
We are now looking for a specialist in psychiatry for the Region Kalmar County psychiatric administration, with adjunct teaching and course coordinator responsibilities at the Medical Program at Linköping University!
Region Kalmar County is entering an exciting phase where we are successfully building an attractive academic environment that integrates care, research, and learning into the work of the clinics.
Creating good conditions for maintaining quality in medical education and medical research is essential. In this environment, you will be an important player in building and leading research for knowledge-driven care and collaborating with colleagues within the organization as well as with the surrounding community to offer students a high-quality education.
The Medical Program at Linköping University conducts regionalized medical education with Kalmar as one of the study locations. This allows us to offer an exciting job where you can combine an educational role as one of the educational coordinators in the Medical Program with research time, while also working clinically as a specialist physician or consultant with us at the Psychiatric Administration.
Course coordinators are responsible, in collaboration with the course leader/examiner, educational leaders, and clinical placement coordinators at the study location, for ensuring that the current course is conducted and followed up according to the established educational and course plan.
The employment is permanent and divided between the roles of course coordinator and teacher, research, and clinical work. The role of course coordinator/teacher including research is limited to two or three years depending on academic qualifications, with the possibility of extension.
About You
You hold a PhD and have specialist competence in psychiatry, as well as a strong interest and commitment to research, development, and education. Broad and solid knowledge in the field of psychiatric research, preferably in combination with competitively obtained external research funding, is advantageous. You work independently, are an initiator, and have good clinical skills as well as leadership abilities. Good collaboration with other researchers, colleagues, and others in the community is also advantageous for the position. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, so that both you and we can enjoy working together.
About the Position
Adjunct Teacher: To be eligible for employment as an adjunct lecturer, assistant professor, or professor at Linköping University, one must demonstrate both pedagogical skill and have obtained a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence and otherwise meet the assessment criteria for each position. Documented experience of educational assignments such as seminar activities, examinations, and course development, as well as documented independence in conducting and leading clinical studies within psychiatric activities, is required.
Those who are employed as adjunct teachers according to the above and who have not completed higher education pedagogical training corresponding to the requirements for the respective position, or are otherwise assessed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within two years after starting the position.
