The ambulance service assesses and treats patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to the hospital, and also handles transports requiring special medical care. Ambulance services in Västerbotten perform around 33,000 missions in the region. In Åsele, we have our emergency vehicle that works with acute care in collaboration with Åsele municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a paramedic or assistant nurse/healthcare assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.
In ambulance care, you meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness, injury, or who need care during transport. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of an accident, and during transport to a healthcare facility. The job is about making a difference for others and showing humility while maintaining calm in demanding situations. In the ambulance, you work in teams, and our nurses have the medical responsibility. You and your colleague also have the ultimate responsibility to check at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift that the ambulance has the correct equipment so you can perform your duties safely.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a degree from a healthcare program and work experience in ambulance care or other relevant experience in emergency care that the employer deems valuable for the operation. It is an advantage if you have a qualification in ambulance care.
For nursing students, the basic requirement is completion of semester 4 for employment as a nursing assistant with us. You must have a valid driver's license (B) and good driving experience. You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Working in ambulance care can be physically demanding, so we require physical endurance.
As part of the recruitment process, you will undergo a fitness test and driving test.
As of July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected title. This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in healthcare. You apply for a certificate of protected title for assistant nurse from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have already received this certificate, we ask that you attach it to your application.
