The ambulance service assesses and treats patients at home, at the scene of accidents, and during transport to hospitals, and is also responsible for transports where care during transport is necessary. The Västerbotten ambulance service performs around 33,000 missions in the county. In Åsele, we have our emergency vehicle that works with acute care in collaboration with Åsele municipality.

All our new colleagues in the Västerbotten Ambulance Service undergo our introductory training so that you gain good insight, understanding, and basic security in your role within ambulance care. Areas you will participate in during the introductory training include Alarm to Delivery, Work Environment, Systematic Care, Treatment Guidelines, Triage, CPR, Rakel Communication, Traffic and Vehicles, Medical Leader and Medical Responsible, Weather and Terrain, Pregnancy and Delivery.

The employment is a permanent position in Region Västerbotten. Start date by agreement.

Based on your qualifications as a nurse and in dialogue with responsible managers, there is the possibility of rotation to other levels of care at Lycksele Hospital or the opportunity to work part of the assignment at the ambulance service's other stations in Southern Lapland.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

As a nurse in the ambulance, you meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury or who need care during transport. You assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of accidents, and during transport to healthcare facilities. The job is about making a difference for others and showing humility while maintaining calm in demanding situations.

In the ambulance, you work in a team consisting of a nurse and a nursing assistant or nurse-nurse. Our nurses have the medical responsibility. You and your colleague also have the ultimate responsibility to check at the beginning of each shift and throughout the shift that the ambulance has the correct equipment so you can perform your duties in a patient-safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you are specialized in ambulance care or have another specialization that we consider valuable for the operation. Experience in emergency care is also advantageous.

You have a B driver's license and good driving experience. You master Swedish in both speech and writing.

Working in ambulance care can be physically demanding, therefore we require physical endurance. As part of the recruitment, you will undergo a fitness test and driving test.
