The Medical Stations

The medical stations are part of the southern Lapland local healthcare area, which is a model area in the transition to close care. With effective collaboration and a focus on the citizen, we drive important change processes within the region and together with the municipality. Clinical assessment at a distance and digital healthcare meetings are developing rapidly and are an important part of ensuring good, close, and accessible care in this area. Therefore, it is no coincidence that we are at the forefront in this field. The medical station model, which is an important starting point for close care, characterizes both the approach and working methods in the daily operations of the organization.

About Us

Storuman, Sorsele, and Tärnaby medical stations are part of the same base unit and are located in southern Lapland, 130 km apart, with Sorsele and Storuman 70 km apart. The nearest hospital is in Lycksele, where the region's ambulance helicopter is stationed.

Our medical stations function as well-equipped mini-hospitals with access to acute care beds, X-ray, ambulance services, and laboratory. Our telemedicine usage is well developed. Here you will find occupational therapists, midwives, physiotherapists, social workers, doctors, psychologists, secretaries, nurses, and nursing assistants. We provide emergency care as well as regular work at health centers and have a well-developed collaboration between all our professional groups and with the municipalities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better. You work professionally with the patient always in focus. As a nurse, you will ensure the patients' medical and specific care needs and then plan and prioritize the actions to be taken.

The role of the nurse also requires your ability to lead and motivate other care staff to create a good work environment together and provide quality care. The work requires independence and the ability to solve problems as well as to make ongoing decisions in the correct order.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying must have a nursing license.
