Your role

Your mission is to work proactively, relationship-building, and preventive with a focus on teenagers. The work is based on prevention science, and it is central to identify risk factors and reduce their influence by strengthening young people's protective factors at universal, selective, and indicated levels. The tasks are varied and aimed at both young people and adults. In direct youth work, it includes meeting individual young people and being present in public arenas for youth. The art of listening, conversing, and working with the young people's own abilities is central to our methodological work to stimulate development and engagement. A large part of the working hours is spent implementing the district's school programs; all teenagers should have met and know that field assistants are available as support during their upbringing.

You will lead meetings with guardians and other adults, conduct structured activities, and parent support programs such as ABC Teen and On the Right Track. An important part is to collaborate with schools, social services, police, youth centers, etc. You will be the contact person for some of our 19 schools with secondary education. To stay updated on trends and the current situation, to know new findings and methods, and to synchronize work with other youth workers, you will participate in forums for collaboration both within and outside the district.

The work is conducted in line with Stockholm City's standards for social fieldwork.

Your skills and experience

You are a social worker or have equivalent education.

We are present in the youth arenas, and you should have experience working in youth activities where young people choose to make contact. It is an advantage if you have previously worked proactively, networked, and with parent support programs. You have an interest, experience, and knowledge of the social media that young people use. You have insight into how important drug prevention work is. Your approach is norm-critical and inclusive.
