Your role
As a foster care secretary, you are responsible for recruiting, investigating, and providing support to foster homes and emergency homes. You have a central role in ensuring that children and youth placed in foster care receive a safe, stable, and developmental existence. You actively seek families willing to take in children and youth, conduct interviews, home visits, and background checks, and write investigations according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines (for example, New Kälvesten or BRA-fam). The work is characterized by both independence and close collaboration with colleagues, other professionals, and external actors.
You continuously work with follow-up and support for the foster homes. This includes regular visits, supervision, and advice to ensure that placed children receive the right care and support based on their individual needs.
An important part of the role is to calculate and follow up on fees and expenses, in accordance with the municipality's guidelines and the child's needs. You are responsible for reporting and any adjustments of compensations.
As a foster care secretary, you also work with quality assurance. You assess the foster homes' conditions to perform their tasks, identify needs for training or support, and contribute to the development of the quality and routines of the operation. The assignment includes supporting, supervising, and training foster homes. You provide both practical and emotional support throughout the placement and participate in training initiatives for foster homes, such as A Home to Grow In.
The work involves close collaboration and continuous reporting. You collaborate with the child's social worker, guardians, and other professionals around the child, such as school staff, healthcare, child and adolescent psychiatry, and other municipalities. Documentation and follow-up are carried out according to applicable laws and guidelines.
As a foster care secretary, you contribute to creating a legally secure, qualitative, and child-focused foster care where the best interests of the child are always at the center.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience working with children, youth, and families, preferably within foster care, child and youth care, or similar operations
- Good knowledge of the social services act, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and relevant guidelines for foster care

Meritorious:
- Experience in investigation, supervision, or follow-up of families
- Ability to recruit and assess foster homes and emergency homes
