The Department of Children and Education works on behalf of the preschool and primary school committees. The department is responsible for preschool activities, after-school care, primary school, and adapted primary school. Our most important mission is to give all children and students in Huddinge the opportunity to develop to their full potential in a safe educational environment. About Vårby RO

Vårby RO consists of three schools: Grindstuskolan F-3, Vårbackaskolan F-3, and Vårbyskolan 4-9. The schools have one principal and three assistant principals, and collaboration between the units takes place at all levels. Vårbyskolor is located in Vårby Gård, a green and beautiful area along the red subway line. Approximately 550 students attend the Vårby schools. The position will be at Vårbyskolan, where we currently have about 240 students.

About the job

Do you want to help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment where every student has the opportunity to grow? At Vårbyskolan, we are now looking for a social pedagogue who, with commitment, care, and courage, wants to make a difference every day.

You build trusting relationships and are present where the students are – in the classroom, in the hallways, during transitions, and at recess. Through your presence, you contribute to increased safety, well-being, and study focus. Your work is both promoting and preventive. You strengthen group dynamics, prevent conflicts and harassment, and support students in social and psychosocial challenges. Through conversations, mentorship, organized recess activities, and targeted interventions, you contribute to each student feeling seen, heard, and respected. You work situationally and consciously to increase equality, understanding that girls and boys may experience insecurity in different ways and in different environments.

You are part of the school's safety team and are included in the student health team. In close collaboration with school staff, guardians, and external actors such as social services and the police, you contribute to creating a holistic approach to the students' safety and development.

You are a role model in everyday life and act in accordance with Huddinge municipality's shared values and Vårby schools' vision: At Vårby schools, all students are given the opportunity to develop their knowledge, regardless of their circumstances. Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a trained and certified social pedagogue.
• Has several years of documented experience working in primary school.
• Has experience substituting as a teacher when necessary.

It is advantageous if you:

• Have further education relevant to the role of social pedagogue.
• Have experience documenting in a student health journal system.
• Have experience working with children and youth with challenging behavior.
• Have knowledge of NPF (Neuropsychiatric Disorders).
• Have good digital skills, preferably with experience working in G-Suite/Google Drive.
• Are familiar with the school's governing documents.

The work requires flexibility, good collaboration skills, and a strong commitment to every student's right to a safe school experience. You are a safe and clear adult who is accustomed to working both independently and in teams. You find it easy to collaborate, communicate openly and unpretentiously, and see collaboration as a natural part of the mission. You are flexible and understand that sometimes it is necessary to step outside your regular role to support the operation – for example, by working in class or leading instruction during high absenteeism. You are curious, proactive, and have the ability to adapt your approach based on the situation and individual.
