Temporary Support Assistants Needed
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Northern Inner City district consists of the central parts of Stockholm, Norrmalm, and Östermalm. Here we work to provide our 155,000 residents with the best services in areas such as preschool, social services, elderly care, and urban development. We welcome you who want to make a difference for the residents of the Northern Inner City.
Welcome to Us
The Northern Inner City area provides support and services for individuals with disabilities according to LSS.
We provide services to adults with disabilities. Our mission is to offer support and service based on individual needs and wishes, and we actively work to promote equality and full participation in community life for our users. The work is characterized by a pedagogical approach, a structured working method, and a low-arousal and respectful attitude towards tenants and colleagues.
We are now looking for temporary staff who want to work as support assistants in LSS group housing on an as-needed basis. We operate on a rolling schedule with shifts during the day, evening, sleeping on-call, awake night, and weekends.
We Offer
We offer you a meaningful and enjoyable job where you have the opportunity to support tenants in becoming the best version of themselves. The operations are located in central Stockholm with good transport links.
Your Role
The work involves supporting, motivating, and clarifying the daily life of the tenants, as well as providing care and service based on their individual needs. The work also involves collaboration with the tenant's network.
Good physical ability and endurance are prerequisites for the job to support tenants based on their needs.
In the role, you are expected to be involved in the tenant's daily life and provide support and active guidance based on their needs. This may include participating in individual leisure activities such as swimming with the tenant at a swimming pool, visiting a church/mosque, attending a concert, going to a zoo, or working out at the gym.
You are also expected to use digital tools in your work, such as developing visual support, using work emails, managing phone contacts, and reading and writing social documentation.
Your Competence and Experience
It is advantageous if you have ongoing or completed education such as:
- Support Pedagogue
- Care Program/Care and Nursing Program with a focus on disabilities
It is also advantageous if you have work experience from:
- LSS group housing
- Experience in care
- Experience with visual support and sign communication (AAC)
We are looking for someone who is flexible and has a good ability to handle changing circumstances. You are thorough and unpretentious in your working style and invite collaboration. You interpret kindly and see lessons when things do not go as planned. You work on the premise that we are each other's work environment and actively contribute to a learning and pleasant work environment. You express yourself well in both speech and writing.
At the interview, you will need to present an extract from the criminal record that you can obtain from the police website.
Interviews are conducted continuously, apply today! The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
