The Disability Care Service in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through closeness and interaction.

Individuals under 65 years old who have a disability and extensive needs for support and assistance can apply for personal assistance. A personal assistant helps someone with basic needs, such as eating, dressing, washing, and communicating. The assistance is individually tailored and aims to provide increased opportunities for people with disabilities to live an independent life.

About Me

I am a 45-year-old woman who wants to explore the world and am looking for someone who has a good sense of humor but is also not afraid of difficult and challenging emotions.

I appreciate humor, laughter, and crazy adventures. Due to trauma, I experience flashbacks, nightmares, body memories, and panic attacks. During these moments, I need help and support from my assistants.

It is important for me that you and I build a good relationship so that I feel safe with you. It may take some time, so I want you to be patient. Together, we will plan and structure our days to find a reasonable activity level. Our daily life will be a mix of fun activities and managing difficult emotions and challenging memories.

Your Tasks

You will support and assist me, a 45-year-old woman with high-functioning autism and complex PTSD.

Your primary task is to help me with stress regulation, emotional management, and finding strategies to act constructively in difficult situations. You will also accompany me on activities, which can range from outdoor adventures to shopping.

I have a strong interest in being outdoors and being physically active. I hope you share this interest and have the energy for it. Of course, we will have fun together, and when needed, you will support and guide me through daily life.

About You

I prefer that you are a middle-aged woman who is stable and secure in yourself and can remain composed and focused even in tough situations. You are attentive and have a knack for reading situations, making it easy for you to keep up with my varying moods. Your attentiveness means you are always a step ahead and act as a stress regulator. You radiate calm to those around you and maintain your composure, keeping your full focus on the task at hand. You see challenges where others see obstacles and stand firm when the storm hits.

The job requires personal maturity and the ability to take initiative and make decisions when the situation demands it, as well as the capacity to act constructively in difficult situations. You need to show great commitment and have an interest in working with behavioral changes. It is desirable that you have education in pedagogy or social work, such as a social worker, treatment pedagog, or equivalent. Experience working with traumatized individuals, self-harming behavior, and autism is also preferred.

It is also important that neither you nor anyone close to you smokes, as I have asthma.

Fluent Swedish is a requirement, as clear communication is crucial for understanding my needs and creating a safe and functional daily life. The personal chemistry between you and me is important, so personal suitability is highly valued.

I would prefer that you have a B driver's license, but it is not a requirement.

Other

2 permanent positions, 70-100% with immediate start, according to agreement. The shifts are long and extend over the day and evening, as well as weekends.
