Housing Consultant

A secure home can be crucial for life to function. We are now looking for someone who wants to make a concrete difference for people who need support in their housing situation. As a housing consultant with us, you will have a meaningful assignment where relationships, collaboration, and solutions are at the center. You will be part of an engaged team that works for others – and for each other.

YOUR ROLE

In the role of housing consultant, you will investigate, decide, and follow up on housing assistance. You are an important first contact for both people seeking housing and for landlords and property owners. The work involves many contacts and close collaboration with colleagues within social services and with other actors.

You work independently on your cases but have close support from other housing consultants. Your work is varied, and you split your time between administrative work in the office and outreach work with tenants. Since the assignment is under development, you will also have the opportunity to help shape working methods and routines over time.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker, behavioral scientist, or has another equivalent higher education. If you have experience working within social services or meeting people in vulnerable life situations, we consider it an advantage. You are used to making assessments based on conversations and investigations and document according to current requirements.

You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and can communicate in English if necessary. As a person, you are secure, attentive, and proactive. You enjoy working independently, take responsibility for your assessments, and know when to seek support from colleagues. You plan your work well and can adapt when circumstances change. A driver's license (B) is required.

You will be part of the social office, the largest department within Skellefteå municipality. The position is placed within individual and family care, in the adult investigation and enforcement branch. At the Individual and Family Care, we work to help people achieve a better life situation.
