Region Västernorrland is responsible for regional development in Västernorrland. We initiate, coordinate, and drive efforts for regional development and growth both inter-municipally in the county and between regions in Norrland to strengthen our collective competitiveness and attractiveness. The Planning and Infrastructure unit coordinates and participates in the county's work with strategic planning focusing on community planning and infrastructure linked to the Regional Development Strategy. We offer an interesting and exciting assignment together with competent colleagues, predominantly carried out in collaboration with other associations, such as the county's municipalities, our northern regions, and relevant authorities.

We are now looking for a strategic community planner to join our team! The position is a permanent full-time employment starting on 2025-03-01 or by agreement.

Strategic Community Planner for Planning and Infrastructure, Härnösand

Job Responsibilities

The role of Strategic Community Planner contributes to developing our regional development responsibility by strengthening and developing collaborations in the area of planning and infrastructure. There is a lot of positive activity in this area, and the opportunities to develop new and strengthen existing collaborations are significant. You will work with:

• Consulting with municipalities in the development of comprehensive plans
• Contributing to the work by providing knowledge bases in the establishment of a regional transport plan
• Leading or participating in various sustainability projects related to the regional planning level
• Leading and participating in various collaborations related to Strategic Community Planning at the regional level

Additional Information

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who

• Has an academic degree in community planning and infrastructure or other education deemed suitable by the employer
• Has knowledge of and experience in strategic community planning and infrastructure
• Has knowledge of and experience in the community building process, such as physical planning and community planning
• Has experience working in a politically governed organization
• Has experience leading and delivering projects
• Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Has a B driver's license

It is meritorious if you

• Are a trained Project Manager or have other leadership training
• Have experience in fiber and broadband expansion at a strategic level
• Have experience in the energy sector at a strategic planning level
• Have experience in transport infrastructure at a strategic planning level
• Have experience with common conflicts at a comprehensive planning level
• Have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
