In Sundsvall, distances are short and communication is good, making it easy to travel to work. There are also good transport options by train, car, or plane to and from Sundsvall.

In preparation for the summer of 2025, the Sundsvall District Court is looking for two summer clerks for a fixed-term employment of 8 weeks.

A position as a summer clerk is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in a court while still studying. During the employment, you will gain insight into the practical work at the district court. Hopefully, we will also spark your interest in future work within Sweden's courts.

Responsibilities

You will see how practical court work is conducted and receive general training in legal analysis and methodology. You will be responsible for taking minutes during hearings, writing draft judgments, conducting legal research, and preparing cases and matters. Other tasks that may arise at the district court may also be included in the position. The work is carried out independently under the supervision of the court clerks.

We are looking for someone studying at the law program. To be considered, you must have completed the courses in criminal law and procedural law at the time of employment, but you should not have completed your studies before the summer. You should have good grades from completed parts of the law education, strong knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Other important qualities include attention to detail, analytical skills, good teamwork abilities, and the ability to organize and plan your work independently.

Other

Interviews are usually not conducted for this short-term position, and great importance will be placed on your personal letter and how you motivate your interest in working as a summer clerk at our court. A phone interview may, however, be possible.

Application

Your application should include a personal letter, CV, grades, and references.
