We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (https://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!

Do you want to work with postoperative care? Do you want to develop, gain experience, and education in both postoperative care and intermediate care? Do you wish to have weekends and public holidays off? We are developing new working methods for postoperative care and are therefore looking for registered nurses who want to enhance their skills and care for patients at a higher level of care. We have built a solid introduction with training and education to ensure you feel secure in your work. Does this sound exciting? Don’t hesitate to apply to us!

Our Operations

The Thoracic Recovery Unit, TUVA, is located on the same floor and in close proximity to the Thoracic Intensive Care Unit. Currently, TUVA has 4 places for shorter recovery and 3 places for longer postoperative care. We are a specialist department for heart and lung patients requiring careful monitoring, advanced treatment, and nursing after thoracic surgery. We are constantly developing new working methods, with catheter-based surgery, robotic surgery, and larger heart/lung surgical operations, which means we are expanding and developing the postoperative operations. Within thoracic care, we have close collaboration and shared responsibility, allowing us to plan, implement, and evaluate the entire patient care chain. Efficiency and patient safety are our focus!

Our recovery/postoperative places are open from Monday morning to Friday evening, around the clock. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

Your Mission

As a registered nurse at TUVA, you will work with specialized and broad postoperative care. You will have the opportunity to develop your entire register as a nurse, from complicated pain management and monitoring of failing vital parameters to basic nursing. You will work in a team with a nurse/nursing assistant and be responsible for 2 - 4 patients. The postoperative care is under constant development to meet patients' needs and optimize patient flow.

Your Qualifications

You are a registered nurse; previous experience in postoperative/intermediate care is an advantage, but we place great importance on personal suitability and qualities such as flexibility, good self-awareness, and communication. For applicants without prior experience, we have developed an extended introduction program.

Your Skills

The person we are looking for is secure, self-aware, and has the ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively within set time frames. You who apply to us have good collaboration skills, are attentive, and resolve conflicts constructively.

We Offer

Permanent employment. A probationary period may apply. Start date by agreement. Take the chance to become part of our team, a very pleasant workplace with varied work and individually tailored introduction. You will have a mentor who provides guidance, feedback, and helps you in your development. Continuous professional development with training days and a postoperative course of 7.5 credits. It is important that you feel secure in your work. Read more about our operations, your career paths, and what you gain as a nurse at TUVA Develop with us at the Thoracic Intensive Care Unit!
