Pharmacist for the Poison Information Centre

At the Medical Products Agency, we make a difference together. In life and for life. We work for the health of people and animals, for a better Sweden today and in the future. Are you a pharmacist who wants to contribute to a vital societal mission? We are now looking for new employees for the Poison Information Centre – where knowledge meets reality, and where you can truly make a difference.

Our Operations

The Poison Information Centre is a national resource that provides advice to both healthcare professionals and the public around the clock regarding acute poisonings caused by medications, chemicals, and biological toxins. Here you will find a workplace that is never predictable, and where learning and development are important.

At the Poison Information Centre, you will work in a dynamic team consisting of pharmacists and physicians. Here, you will have the opportunity to both learn from and share knowledge with colleagues. As a newcomer, you will receive thorough training in acute toxicology and the skills required to handle complex poisoning incidents and provide qualified advice.

The operations are located in Solna Strand and comprise about 40 employees, including pharmacists, intensive care physicians, administrative staff, and a manager. The work involves irregular working hours scheduled for daytime, evenings, weekends, and nights according to a rotating schedule.

Your Responsibilities

As a pharmacist with us, you will become part of a close-knit team that works shifts to provide advice around the clock every day of the year. You will:

  • Assess risks and provide advice on acute poisonings via telephone
  • Work closely with other specially trained pharmacists and physicians
  • Analyze and compile medical and toxicological data
  • Participate in continuous professional development in acute clinical toxicology
  • Collaborate with other units at the Medical Products Agency as well as other authorities and healthcare institutions

To thrive in this role, you should be interested in acute clinical toxicology and want to grow in your profession and contribute to this vital societal mission. You see irregular working hours as an opportunity – not a hindrance.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who is a licensed pharmacist with good computer and system skills. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form. Experience in clinical work is an advantage.

Your Personal Qualities

You are structured, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. You have the ability to think quickly, analyze, and make decisions under pressure. You can take initiative and are resilient to stress but also attentive and flexible. You express yourself easily in both speech and writing and can communicate with all people, regardless of their background and knowledge.

We place great importance on personal qualities.
