Our Operations

At the Imaging and Functional Medicine Center, approximately 200,000 examinations and treatments are performed annually using a wide range of modalities such as MRI, CT, conventional X-ray, intervention, ultrasound, SPECT, and PET.

The Imaging and Functional Medicine Center has about 350 employees and operates around the clock. We are in an extremely exciting period where radiological examinations are in constant demand, with high competence among our staff. We receive advanced cases from the Uppsala region and also get inquiries from the rest of Sweden, as we possess specialized skills and provide highly specialized care focused on radiology and nuclear medicine.

Your Mission

As a nursing assistant/healthcare assistant during the summer, you will perform a variety of tasks such as:

  • Working in a team with radiology nurses and healthcare assistants in the lab
  • Preparing patients for examinations
  • Handling phone calls with referring units
  • Transporting patients between examinations and the emergency department
  • Responsible for replenishing medical supplies in the lab
  • Administrative tasks such as assisting staff in the reception areas of the clinics, etc.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for radiology nursing students who have completed at least semester 4 or trained healthcare assistants for our departments at the Imaging and Functional Medicine Center during the summer. We want you to be available for work in one of our various departments for at least 6 weeks during the period of weeks 23-34.

If you have previous patient experience from healthcare, we consider this an asset. Day, weekend, and evening shifts may be included in the schedule. It is important that you are easy to collaborate with, meticulous, have a positive attitude, and enjoy working with people. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

Your Skills

We are looking for a person who is secure, has self-awareness, and can distinguish between the personal and professional. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively within set time frames. The role requires good teamwork skills, being attentive, and resolving conflicts constructively. We appreciate your interest, willingness, and ability to help others and your effort in your work to deliver solutions.

We Offer

We offer hourly employment over the summer, with start date and scope to be agreed upon. Work may also be offered after the summer period, during your semesters 5 and 6, if desired. The work may involve daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Start date according to agreement.
