Research Position in Skeletal Biology

At the Department of Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine and Clinical Nutrition, research is conducted in several areas such as osteoporosis, endocrinology, hematology, gastroenterology, hypertension, pulmonary medicine, and allergology, as well as clinical nutrition with a research focus on body composition and energy metabolism. The research is carried out in close collaboration with healthcare at both Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Mölndal Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

The researcher is expected to drive scientific projects, acquire and apply the laboratory's methods, independently establish new techniques and technologies, coordinate ongoing collaborations both within and outside the research group, write scientific manuscripts, and supervise students and other researchers in the group. The work also includes planning, conducting, analyzing, and documenting experiments, as well as communicating results both within the department and in the broader research community. Additionally, active participation in research meetings, management of mouse colonies and tissue biopsies, and contributing to a well-functioning and efficient research environment are included.

Qualifications

A PhD in biomedicine and documented research experience after the doctorate, equivalent to postdoctoral qualifications with at least two years of experience in bone biology, are required for the researcher position. The applicant should have experience in advanced deep imaging and associated high-resolution microscopy, expertise in genetic manipulations in mice, including lineage tracing, and primary cell cultures. A good ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English is a requirement. Personal suitability and ability to collaborate will be given great importance in the assessment.
