Habilitation is specialized health care for children and adolescents with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialized knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Exciting Job with Variety

We are now looking for a special educator or teacher for a 100% temporary position for 8 months.

You will belong to the reception in Uddevalla, but parts of the position will also be directed towards patients belonging to the Habilitation in Vänersborg. If there is a request for placement in Vänersborg, this can be discussed.

Description

We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of special educators, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pediatric nurses, and doctors. As a special educator/teacher, you will assess the patient's ability to play, interact, learn, and be independent in daily life. Therapeutic interventions consist of both developing the patient's own abilities and adapting the environment, e.g., through clear pedagogical methods. Interventions are provided both directly to the patient and through guidance and support to individuals in the patient's vicinity. Treatment occurs both in groups and individually, and it is part of the job to lead group activities, primarily aimed at caregivers.

Interventions largely take place in the habilitation's facilities, and we use digital meetings as part of our working method. Our interventions primarily target the patient and their caregivers; if necessary, interventions can be provided in the patient's immediate environment, i.e., in preschool/school or at home. Within habilitation, we work from a child perspective, ensuring the best possible health and development for children and adolescents. We work person-centered to ensure that the patient and their caregivers are active participants.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a qualified special educator or teacher. Experience working with the habilitation's target group, with preschool-aged children, and work within adapted primary schools is advantageous. Other qualifications include knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities, experience with applied behavior analysis (ABA) / Positive Behavior Support (PBS), alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), and understanding the implications of cognitive and mobility impairments in daily life.

We seek someone who can and wants to collaborate with the patient and their network to find the conditions for functioning and developing in daily life. We appreciate experience with interdisciplinary working methods. Collaboration skills, flexibility, and a good attitude are essential for us, and personal suitability is therefore highly valued.

The position involves travel, so a B driver's license is required.
