Preschool Teachers and Childcare Workers Wanted in Stenungsund Municipality

Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential areas close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality is organized into an administration with four sectors. The Education Sector includes preschools and primary schools with associated after-school care, special needs schools, high schools, adult education, and Culture and Leisure.

The preschools in Stenungsund Municipality work based on national governing documents and are responsible for providing childcare for children aged 1 to 5 years. In 2022, the initiative Early Interventions was launched to enable all children’s right to an equal education. Focus areas in the initiative are Language Development, Play-Responsive Teaching, and Clarifying Pedagogy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The preschools in Stenungsund Municipality are involved in the initiative Early Interventions, which aims to work towards an equitable preschool. We do this by dividing the children into smaller groups to promote social interaction as well as language and communication. Our focus areas are clarifying pedagogy, language-developing methods, and play-responsive teaching.

We work systematically with continuous evaluations of Early Interventions at various levels, both locally and centrally. Special educators and lead preschool teachers support our work. Professional development is targeted towards Early Interventions, and we are part of a network with the University of Gothenburg focusing on Play-Responsive Teaching.

We are now looking for preschool teachers and childcare workers for temporary positions, primarily at the preschools: Hallerna Norra, Brudhammar, and Spekeröd.

Your role as a preschool teacher is to ensure and contribute to high quality in teaching. Your approach to implementing the curriculum in practice contributes to children's development and learning. You create a place where children are empowered - through play, learning, and feeling secure. You thus create the best conditions for children's time in preschool and also for their future time in the education system.

As a childcare worker, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. Together with the rest of the team, you shape the pedagogical activities. You work to provide safe care and stimulate children's development and learning.

The assignment involves planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating preschool activities together with preschool teachers.

Together, we prepare for the goals in the curriculum, school law, and municipal governing documents.

Your work is characterized by a clear respect for the individual, a good relationship with children, guardians, and colleagues, and in accordance with the goals so that we strengthen children's right to play, learn, develop, feel secure, and have fun in preschool.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements for Preschool Teachers:

• You are a licensed preschool teacher
• You are well acquainted with the curriculum to create conditions for teaching, education, and optimal learning environments
• You should have a leadership style that creates enthusiasm, engagement, and participation
• You are strategic and have an overarching holistic perspective on education
• You create conditions for teaching and education
• You have good technical skills and can enhance your teaching with various tools

Requirements for Childcare Workers:

• You have a childcare education or other pedagogical education that the employer assesses as equivalent
• You are well acquainted with the curriculum to create conditions for teaching, education, and optimal learning environments
• You find it easy to communicate and collaborate
• You have a desire to be involved in developing the activities based on our governing documents and together with colleagues
• You have high digital competence
