Do you want to develop in your role and have a strong interest in key figures and follow-up work? Are you positive, unpretentious, and driven? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
As a management economist/controller within Tidaholm Municipality, you will be offered an interesting and enjoyable job where you can contribute both in the field and within the controller group's work.
About the position
The unit for economics and operational management is now seeking a management economist for the controller group – a team with excellent collaboration, where sharing experiences is encouraged, there is an open atmosphere, and a lot is happening.
As a management economist, you will be responsible for the finances in one of our departments and its board, playing a central role in supporting the financial planning and follow-up of operations within your area of responsibility. You will work closely with the department head, management team, and operational managers, contributing with analyses, strategies, insights, governance, and recommendations to ensure good financial management and efficiency.
Within the unit, there are good development and training opportunities. Thanks to the breadth of the position, you will gain extensive knowledge in accounting and financial management.
The municipality's unit for economics and operational management is centrally located at the municipal executive office in the City Hall and is responsible for the overall work with accounting, financing, budgeting, follow-up, and procurement.
Your main tasks
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as well as annual financial statements for the board to ensure good quality in reporting and ongoing accounting.
- Develop, analyze, follow up, and compile financial conditions, revenues and costs, operational volumes, and other financial analyses in collaboration with the department.
- Drive the department's budgeting and follow-up processes within the framework of the municipality's corresponding centrally governed processes.
- Provide professional financial support to the board, management, and operational managers in budget planning, accounting, follow-up, and forecasting work - both operationally and strategically.
- Prepare financial-related materials to support the board's decisions.
- Coordinate financial and operational resources to develop and streamline financial management, accounting, financial processes, and quality in operations within one of the municipality's larger departments.
- Contribute to other tasks or assignments within the unit and controller group.
Qualifications
We want you to have at least a three-year degree in economics at the university level. Previous experience in qualified controller work, preferably within the public sector or another complex organization with clear regulations and governance models, is an advantage.
As a person, you are analytical, driven, and change-oriented. You are engaged and find it easy to work with both operational and strategic issues, both in a group and independently, while being able to take your own initiatives. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner and can easily switch between operational tasks and strategic analyses.
Furthermore, you have good communication and pedagogical skills and express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish.
We offer
We offer a developing and meaningful job where you can contribute your expertise in a socially important operation. You will become part of our knowledgeable controller team, but your main workplace will be within the Social and Care Administration, close to the managers and daily operations. Here you will have a varied and stimulating role where you work both independently and in close collaboration with the operations. You will receive a well-thought-out introduction to feel secure in your role.
As an employer, Tidaholm Municipality values a health-promoting work environment, good working conditions, and engaged leadership that supports your development. We who work here are driven by creating a positive difference for our residents and being proud ambassadors for our municipality. Welcome to become part of our community and contribute to a sustainable and forward-looking municipality.
