Summer Temporary Position as Investigator at the Police in Östergötland

Working for the Police means creating safety in people's lives every day. We are now looking for investigators for summer temporary positions in the Östergötland Police Area.
The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees and is organized into seven police regions, several national departments, and a secretariat. The Öst region consists of three police areas: Södermanland, Östergötland, and Jönköping. The Östergötland Police Area is further divided into three local police areas, a secretariat, and an investigation section.
The local police areas and the investigation section are now looking for approximately 25 investigators for the summer.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work with simpler investigations and act as support in our investigation activities. This involves close collaboration with our investigators and preliminary investigation leaders, as well as other contacts within and outside the authority.
Common to the activities:
- Investigation of crimes, from the time the case arrives at the section until completion
- Interrogations with various individuals in preliminary investigations or investigations of restraining orders, such as victims (protected persons), witnesses, and suspects (prohibited persons)
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining structure and quality, and quickly switch between the cases that currently have the highest priority
- Handling of supporting evidence
- Compile extensive material, conduct evidence assessments, and present it in a pedagogical manner to simplify preliminary investigation decisions that move the process forward.
We place high demands on flexibility, where all investigators are expected to work with all categories of crimes as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Police education up to and including semester 2 or longer, or studying within another relevant academic program
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Experience working in various computer systems
- Familiarity with the police's data systems
- Driver's license (B)
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- Other language skills
- Experience from government operations
- Knowledge of Durtvå
As a person, we are looking for someone with social competence and a responsive and clear manner. It is important that you are self-motivated and take responsibility for your tasks. You should also have a structured working method and the ability to prioritize when the situation requires it. You have the ability to work at a high pace while maintaining high quality. You should be flexible and have good collaborative skills.

Work location: Linköping, Norrköping, Motala
Start date: We wish for you as an investigator to work most of the summer and see that you can work during weeks 24-34.
There may be opportunities for intermittent employment (hourly employment) in connection with the summer temporary position.
