The Eastern Gothenburg Unit
The Eastern Gothenburg Unit consists of about 140 employees. The unit is responsible for a geographical area with 6 municipalities: Herrljunga, Vårgårda, Alingsås, Partille, Lerum, and Eastern Gothenburg.
Job Description
We are looking for employment officers who can work towards clear goals and follow regulations and processes. The role of an employment officer involves assessing job seekers' needs, deciding on interventions, and following up on these in a legally secure manner. You will work closely with individuals who have significant support needs and find it difficult to establish themselves in the labor market. Through conversations, you will map competencies, support needs, and suggest measures such as guidance, training initiatives, or the development of job search strategies. You are expected to stay updated on the labor market and employers' recruitment needs.
Some of our new employment officers will work with the SIUS focus:
SIUS Focus
(Special Introduction and Follow-up Support) is a program for job seekers with disabilities who need individual support to find, obtain, or retain a job. In this role, you will support both job seekers and the workplace, which involves extensive and close contact with employers. You need to be proactive and create good business relationships.
Qualities We Are Looking For
You need to be able to work independently, accurately, and at a high pace while carrying out government assignments and conducting professional conversations. You will meet job seekers individually and in groups. You need to be efficient, structured, goal-oriented, able to coach job seekers, handle difficult conversations, and match them with employers. Since the assignment often changes, you need to be flexible and take on new challenges. You should also be able to communicate pedagogically with different target groups.
To succeed as an employment officer, you enjoy:
- Interpreting and applying laws and regulations
- Documenting information in a legally secure and structured manner
- Meeting and working with people in various situations and with different conditions
- Creating good business relationships
- Navigating and working in multiple systems simultaneously
- Working to achieve set goals, both individual and overarching
- Conducting complex conversations
Our Offer:
The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. The work location is Gothenburg or Alingsås.
We offer a generous vacation agreement, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to work remotely for part of your working time when the business allows. We also include wellness during working hours and a favorable wellness allowance. After a few months, when you have learned the job and if the business allows, there is an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work of up to 49%.

Basic Requirements for the Position
- University/higher education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system)
- Alternatively, you have been employed as an employment officer at the Employment Service and are assessed to have good conditions to meet today's requirements for employment officers
And
- At least 2 years of work experience, collectively working at least 50 percent over a total of 2 years
- Good knowledge of Swedish, that is, a good ability to communicate in speech and writing, as well as high reading comprehension
- Driver's license and driving experience
Other Merits for the Position
- Experience of government authority and work within public administration
- Worked according to SIUS methodology or similar
- Experience from working with people with disabilities
- Experience in creating good business relationships and collaboration with employers
- Experience from work with labor market-oriented rehabilitation
- Experience and knowledge of collaboration with other actors, such as authorities, municipalities, complementary actors, and care interventions
