Substitute for the School Social Team in Helsingborg

One of our colleagues will be on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a substitute for about 1 year.

About the Workplace

A functioning school experience is an important protective factor against exclusion and ill health. Therefore, we have established school social teams in the city of Helsingborg based on cross-professional collaboration between schools and social services. The aim is to strengthen students' conditions to achieve school goals, increase attendance, create safety, and break unfavorable development.

Within our school social team, half are employed by the social administration with the nearest manager belonging to the area of intervention and service, and half by the school and leisure administration with the nearest manager belonging to student health. Commonly, the manager from the social administration leads the entire group, and development work is driven together in the whole group. You will be employed by the social administration.

Job Responsibilities

The interventions are aimed at students in grades preschool - grade 6 with problematic school absenteeism and/or norm-breaking behavior, where the city's regular interventions, through school or social services separately, are not sufficient to meet the student's full needs. You will primarily work with individual interventions that can take place both in school, home, and leisure with the student and their guardians. You will also work in a promoting/preventive and consultative manner.

Some inconvenient working hours may occur as interventions may be needed before school starts in the morning and some evening hours. You collaborate with schools, social services, and other actors, focusing on the whole child throughout the day.

In the team, it may involve the following interventions:

• Be responsible for and carry out an in-depth mapping of the student's situation.
• Coordinate support for students from schools, social services, and other actors.
• Offer psychosocial support, motivational conversations, social training, and help create structure.
• Support and guide guardians and conduct social change work in the home.
• Work with preventive interventions and training for parent groups or staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in social work or other higher education in social work or similar, alternatively at least two years of post-secondary education in social work or similar.
• Experience working in social services.
• Driver's license and driving experience.

Furthermore, it is meritorious if:

• You have experience working with support for children and parents and experience working in schools.
• You have training and knowledge in proven methods for mapping, parenting support, and neuropsychiatric disabilities.
• You have experience working cross-professionally.
• You are familiar with the structures and collaborating actors of Helsingborg city.
