Treatment Pedagogue at SiS Youth Home Råby
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. No matter where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Råby accommodates both girls and boys. We have both closed and open placements for closed youth care as well as treatment places for youth placed under the Care of Young Persons (LVU).
Job Description
Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable individuals? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you will work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you will be responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and assist in ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our engagement, and our attitude.
To meet the needs of our target group, we welcome male applicants.
Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and have an easy time building relationships with both youth and other staff members. You possess good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You should also have:
- At least a degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or equivalent education from a university that we assess as comparable
- Driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.)
At SiS, we value good employee participation. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee participation.
