Economist Officer for the Wheel Vehicle Section
The Army Staff is an organizational unit within the Swedish Armed Forces where the Technical and Maintenance Office Ground (TVK Mark) is included as a department in the Armament Unit. TVK Mark is responsible for material maintenance, material utilization, and material maintenance economy within the Armed Forces, as well as ensuring that the material is maintained in accordance with system objectives. TVK Mark consists of seven sections with areas of responsibility for Air Defense and Soldier-Borne Weapons, Field Work Equipment, Wheeled Vehicles, Combat Vehicles, Indirect Fire, Tracked Vehicles, and CBRN, as well as a section that works more broadly within the TVK organization with support and planning.
About the Position
The Armed Forces' wheeled vehicles are found within all branches of defense and include both older and newer models. Wheeled vehicles also include associated equipment such as maintenance equipment. The position of Economist Officer is located at the Wheel Vehicle Section with employees in Boden, Östersund, Skövde, Enköping, and Växjö. In your role, you are a staff member in the Army Staff. The position of Economist Officer primarily involves providing administrative support within the economic area to the Wheel Vehicle Section.
Main Responsibilities
The section works with technical systems. Your main work will be to support decision-makers with budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting of costs to maintain and utilize our material systems. Additionally, you will support planning and monitoring of the administrative budget within the section. The role involves varied tasks, and you have your own areas of responsibility and supportive tasks towards colleagues and management. Our financial monitoring includes collaboration with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), industry, and the Armed Forces' workshops. To clarify, we can specify some of your tasks:
- Invoice management
- Work with order documentation
- Reporting
- Analysis and forecasting of the budget
- Other common tasks within economic work
The monitoring is done in PRIO, which is the Armed Forces' version of the SAP business system.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in economics or other education deemed equivalent by FM
- Relevant work experience in budgeting and financial monitoring
- Good knowledge of the Office suite
- Good language skills in Swedish and English
- Driving license B
Meritorious
- Previously employed within the Armed Forces
- Experience with the Armed Forces' IT systems, PRIO, VIDAR
- Experience with SAP
