to apply for the job
We are now looking for a Project Buyer (https://www.ncc.se/jobba-pa-ncc/mot-vara-medarbetare/inkopare/) for our collaboration project with Svenska kraftnät, where we will build 5 new gas-insulated substations (GIS). This is a position for you who thrive with responsibility, have knowledge of purchasing and construction law, and want to be part of a socially important project. You will work closely with our project organization and our suppliers – with tasks that make a real difference in how the project develops. This is an exciting opportunity to work together with a knowledgeable and experienced purchasing team in a large project with many unusual and interesting technical areas.
About the GIS project
NCC has initiated a collaboration with Svenska kraftnät to plan and build five new GIS stations in Stockholm: Råcksta, Björksätra, Anneberg, Kronåsen, and Kappetorp. The stations will meet the increased electricity demand in the region and will be built close to existing substations, which places high demands on working environment, safety, and technical precision. The project is a total contract in collaboration and constitutes an important part of the modernization of Sweden's electricity grid. As part of our team, you will contribute to a socially important mission, where your efforts make a difference for both the environment and future energy supply.
The role of Project Buyer
You will be responsible for creating close business relationships with contractors and suppliers, as well as negotiating and executing economically advantageous agreements. You will work closely with our project organization throughout the purchasing process – from planning and preparation of tender documents to evaluation and contract writing. The role includes developing purchasing strategies for subcontractor procurements and larger material purchases, ensuring that the purchasing work follows established processes and risk assessments, as well as performing supplier evaluations and analyses of incoming bids. You negotiate commercial and legal terms and have a close collaboration with production management, legal, and customers throughout the process. It is important to ensure a good handover of contracts to production and to contribute to the development of purchasing work over time by sharing experiences and helping to find new ways to improve.
Your profile
In this role, much is about collaboration, close contact with production, design, suppliers, and our client Svenska Kraftnät. It is advantageous, but not a requirement, if you have experience working in the earthworks, construction, and infrastructure sectors. You have several years of experience in purchasing, in the construction industry or within industry, preferably with a focus on contracting or construction-related projects, and ideally a degree in purchasing and/or engineering.
You are well acquainted with industry standard agreements such as AB04 and ABT06, have a good commercial understanding, and are used to negotiating. Attention to detail and the desire to continuously improve are important, but it is equally about being self-driven, creative, and resourceful. It is also important to be able to read people, be attentive, and actively seek information in collaborations.
You thrive both in a group and when you can work independently. You are fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as you will negotiate and document agreements in both languages.
Additional information
The position is a permanent employment with a workplace in Stockholm, starting by agreement. The position will undergo background checks in accordance with NCC's safety culture.
