About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The 18 to 24 unit works to support the young adults we meet towards an independent life based on their circumstances.

The needs vary based on their specific life situations. Within the unit, we have gathered various competencies focusing on, among other things, financial support, labor market issues, investigation of other assistance, and outpatient interventions for the target group aged 18-24. The vision is that social services, through close cooperation and a holistic view, will gather the competencies needed based on the young adult's needs and thereby provide users with the support they need with independence as the goal.

With us, you will have a varied, independent, and important job with the residents of Lund who need support to become self-sufficient. You will receive thorough training in the work, good opportunities for professional development, and continuous support from your colleagues and manager. To allow you as a social worker to focus fully on your assignment, you will have an administrative support from a financial officer.

One of our colleagues is moving on to new challenges, and we are now looking for her replacement. You will be one of five social workers in the financial support team. You will have close cooperation with your colleagues within the unit as well as with the rest of the social services and other actors and important partners around the young person. Exciting developments are currently happening within the administration related to youth in terms of financial support and labor market issues.

The main task as a social worker within financial support is to support, motivate, and investigate individuals' conditions on their path to self-sufficiency. During this time, we investigate, assess, and decide on the right to assistance according to the Social Services Act. The aim is for this work to be carried out through good cooperation with other units within the administration, but also external authority cooperation with, for example, the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, and healthcare.

We Are Looking For You

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and knowledge of applicable legislation in the area. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with financial assistance or other tasks that the employer finds equivalent. Experience in motivational interviewing (MI) is also an advantage.

To succeed in your role, you need to be solution-focused and see opportunities in people's potential for development. You should have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude towards both the people you meet in your job and your colleagues and external actors. You can quickly adapt in your work and prioritize according to current conditions. The tasks require that you are self-sufficient, but you also see the work group as an asset. The job also requires that you are structured and can handle administrative tasks.

Good experience in handling IT systems and the ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing are necessary as the work involves some documentation and administration.

About the Workplace
