Your role with us

In the role of childcare assistant, you will participate in the activities that are part of the preschool's operations. Your task as a childcare assistant is to provide children with a safe and stimulating stay while their parents work. This means that you will work with content and interaction based on each child's knowledge, experience, and specific conditions, using the curriculum as a foundation. The preschool teacher has the pedagogical responsibility, and as a childcare assistant, you contribute to creating a safe, fun, and educational day for the children in preschool together with your colleagues.

You will have contact with guardians through daily interactions when children are dropped off and picked up, and it is important that you are positive and attentive in your interactions with both colleagues and guardians.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with one of the following qualifications:

• High school diploma from a national program
• Certificate from the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on Educational Work and Social Work with at least 1300 points in pedagogical courses
• Courses within the vocational package for childcare assistants from adult education or folk high school with at least 900 points in pedagogical courses.

It is an advantage if you have documented experience working with children in preschool or have other experience from similar tasks or other work experience. You need to be able to stimulate children's development and have a good ability to meet preschool-aged children. You are a balanced and stable person with a professional attitude and can handle situations that arise in a safe and calm manner. Since the work can be physically demanding, you need to be in good physical shape.

In the role of childcare assistant, you are required to communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing. We also want you to have empathetic abilities and be good at collaborating. A driver's license and access to your own car to reach our schools around the municipality is an advantage.

When we want to offer you the position, you will need to present a certificate from the police's criminal record to be employed, according to the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
