Job Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a teacher for grades 7–9 with qualifications in Social Studies (SO) to join Mellanhedsskolan.

Depending on your qualifications, teaching in other subjects may also be relevant. You will be part of a team of teachers where the focus is on creating the best possible conditions for every student in a safe and trusting environment. You will teach students in grades 7–9 in Social Studies, educating and supporting them in their social and academic development. You will challenge students to take initiative, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others. You will belong to a process unit within one of the grade levels and will have mentor students in one of the classes together with your colleagues.

Qualifications

You are a licensed teacher with qualifications to teach grades 7–9 in Social Studies. If you have qualifications in additional subjects for grades 7–9 and previous experience working as a teacher, we consider this an asset. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you possess strong didactic and pedagogical skills, enabling you to lead and organize your work to create a conducive study environment and a good learning atmosphere for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good familiarity and experience, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools.

Naturally, you have a professional approach and strive to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Mellanhedsskolan offers education for students from preschool class through grade 9, as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1–9. Approximately 1,100 students attend the school. In the autumn of 2022, Mellanhedsskolan took over the facilities previously used by Slottstadens skola. This means that Mellanhedsskolan operates across two school units. Mellanheden 1 serves grades F–3, while Mellanheden 2 (formerly Slottstadens skola) serves grades 4–9.
