Recreation Assistant/Leader for the Boarding School

With the goal - We develop world-class competence for a sustainable future and a good life, the Nature Management Administration drives education within youth high schools, adapted high schools, adult education, and vocational colleges. The Nature Schools Svenljunga, Sötåsen, Uddetorp, and the Biological Vocational College serve as competence centers for the growth and development of the green industries. Together with the business community and researchers, the administration drives energy projects and experimental activities at the forefront in the schools. The Nature Management Administration is part of the Västra Götaland Region.

We offer all our high school students the opportunity to live in a boarding school. Many have long distances to travel, and the boarding school becomes a prerequisite for being able to study in a location other than their hometown. The overarching goal of the operation is to support students towards achieving their goals in school and to ensure that students feel safe and have a meaningful leisure time. We offer enhanced housing support for students in need within the framework of assistance decisions in the student's home municipality.

Main Responsibilities:

We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a recreation assistant/leader at the school's boarding school. The job includes maintaining contact with students' parents as well as good communication with the rest of the team. Various evening activities are organized in the operation, initiated by staff or by the students themselves. During your shift, you take time for conversations and provide adult support regarding the needs of the students. Together with colleagues, you are responsible for maintaining a good atmosphere in the boarding school so that everyone can thrive, feel safe, and develop as much as possible. Work hours are scheduled for afternoons, evenings, nights, and mornings.

Qualifications - we are looking for someone who:

• Has post-secondary education as a recreation leader or social pedagogue. You may also have other education or work experience that the employer considers equivalent.
• Has experience working with youth with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
• Has a B driver's license for manual transmission.
• Has good IT skills.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in schools or similar boarding school operations.

Personal Qualities:

We place great importance on a positive attitude and that you have a sense of service and responsibility. You must enjoy working with people - you meet students and staff every day. The schools are characterized by openness, lack of prestige, and a strong desire for development and collaboration.

You have good cooperation skills and are flexible, patient, and proactive. You need to be able to solve problems that may arise independently as well as together in a group. The team is collectively responsible for the fixed activities offered at the boarding school.

Conditions:

The position is a permanent employment with scheduled working hours. Start date 3/3 2025 or by agreement, 100% employment rate, vacation position. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.

To obtain employment within the school, a criminal record extract is required, which you can apply for through the Police Authority.
