Student Coordinator at Almby School

About the Position

One of our colleagues is on study leave for an extended period, and we are therefore looking for a temporary student coordinator who can start as soon as possible and work throughout the school year 26/27. Almby School is looking for someone who wants to work in a qualified manner to provide our students with the best possible conditions for success in school. The work primarily targets our students in grades 7-9, but some work will also be done with the rest of the primary school. Together with educators, student health, and staff around the student café and study support, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating interventions for students who need support in their development. You will have significant responsibility for contributing to a safe environment at school and will be an important part of our work towards set goals.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • Guide and support students in social interactions
  • Create a safe school environment and participate in the school's safety work
  • Be responsible for planning breaks and transitions during the school day
  • Strengthen students' motivation to study
  • Collaborate with the school's other staff in goal fulfillment work
  • Collaborate with mentors, student health, and other staff in contacts with guardians and external actors connected to the students
  • Work and document in the operational systems available, e.g., service notes, reports of concern and police reports, as well as investigations and documentation regarding safety issues

About the Workplace

Intraprenad Almby School is a school for all students regardless of background, conditions, and needs. The school has a service function with maintenance, administration, IT, library, and cleaning that works to create the best conditions so that other staff can provide students with the best education possible. In this role, you will belong to one of four units at Almby School, specifically to our unit for grades 7-9. The other units at the school are F-3, 4-6, and adapted primary school, each led by an assistant principal. The school is ultimately led by a principal for all units. There is a large student health team at the school with several special educators, special teachers, school nurses, and counselors, led by two team leaders.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable and can create lasting good relationships. As a student coordinator, you can plan your work effectively and easily adapt to new situations and changing conditions. You are driven to create good conditions for students to succeed and handle emerging situations calmly, clearly, and pedagogically.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • Higher education/university degree with a focus on educational or social work
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in need of support

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the later years of primary school
