Support Assistant at Nya Sandbacken

About the Position
As a support assistant in social psychiatry, your job involves supporting service recipients in group housing and regular housing. The work involves providing individual support to service recipients in their homes and daily lives. You work in a team where you are part of the collaboration that is essential for the operation to function.
Your main task is to work with your colleagues to offer tailored pedagogical support that contributes to a meaningful, independent, and developing life in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL). You provide individual support to service recipients. We strive to create conditions for individuals to achieve their own goals.
Examples of Job Duties:
- Support the service recipient in daily activities/employment in a pedagogical manner
- Perform care tasks and, based on delegation, some medication management
- Perform service tasks such as laundry, shopping, etc.
- Document regularly and review existing documentation
- Establish and follow up on implementation plans
- Participate in workplace meetings and other meetings
- Have knowledge of and follow the applicable laws, policies, and procedures of the operation
About the Workplace
Nya Sandbacken group home is located on Sandbackavägen in Mellringe, Örebro. The operation also includes providing housing support to individuals living in regular housing and sublease contracts. It is easy to reach the operation by bus.
The social psychiatry in Örebro municipality provides support and services to individuals with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

Qualifications
As a support assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet service recipients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's needs. You master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with the service recipient and other staff as well as document what the operation requires. Good computer skills are also required for documentation.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Certified nursing assistant education or equivalent in child and leisure program (focus on pedagogical and/or social work)
- Documented experience in providing care services
- Documented experience working with people with disabilities
- Driver's license for manual transmission
Desirable:
- Documented experience working with individuals with mental disabilities
- Experience in documentation according to IBIC (individual needs in focus)
- Experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues
- Experience working with methods such as MI, R-ACT, and/or ESL
- Training and/or experience in low-affect responses
Scope and Start Date
Employment type: permanent position
Employment rate: 100%
Start date: January 4, 2026, or by agreement
Number of positions: 1
Working hours: night and every other weekend
