In Hägersten-Älvsjö, you are close to the city, transportation, and nature. We offer a dynamic workplace with opportunities for you to develop in your role.

Welcome to us

Stockholm is developing and changing for the future. Our ambitions are high. We are now looking for you who want to help shape tomorrow's Stockholm. Hägersten-Älvsjö District Administration is located in southern Stockholm with proximity to scenic areas and good transportation. We are about 3000 proud and dedicated employees who provide high-quality service to the district's residents every day. Our work environment is characterized by collaboration, courage, and participation. Our strength lies in the diversity among our residents, which is also reflected in our employees. Together we make a difference!

We offer

The mission of the Promotion Unit is to provide children and young people with a safe and meaningful leisure activity at playgrounds and youth centers. The primary target group for youth centers is high school and secondary school students aged 13-18 years. The young people's own ideas, skills, interests, and creativity are at the center of our work. The unit is also responsible for the district's holiday activities and organizes events aimed at children and youth in the area of violence prevention. Everyone who visits the unit's activities is met by friendly and helpful staff who work with an inclusive and norm-expanding perspective. There are 4 youth centers in the district: open activities at the youth centers in Älvsjö and Fruängen, an activity-based youth center with a cultural focus in Liljeholmen, and a youth center for young people with disabilities. The advertised position is primarily for the youth center in Älvsjö, but we support each other within the unit.

We offer: Opportunity for vacation exchange. Discounted annual pass to Stockholm's municipal swimming pools including gym and a wellness allowance.

Additional information: Before employment becomes relevant, a criminal record check will be requested.

Your role

The mission is to offer young people opportunities for meaningful leisure time, gain new experiences, and develop skills that empower them to live an independent life, based on a promotional perspective and focusing on the inherent resources of young people. A central part of the position is to pay attention to young people's interests and provide them with opportunities to influence and develop the activities. There will be a particular focus on continuing to develop the Girls' Forum, a targeted initiative for girls. The mission also involves supporting young people in carrying out activities that arise from their own initiatives. We also disseminate information about open leisure activities and attract young people to participate in what we offer, which involves outreach work in schools and collaboration with external partners.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone with solid experience in the field who can be a positive adult role model. You should be an educated leisure leader, leisure home teacher, or sports teacher. You have previous experience working with children and youth and good knowledge of youth culture. Furthermore, you have an interest and knowledge of cultural, sports, and leisure-related issues. You also have good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have experience with targeted girls' activities and knowledge of children and youth from a diversity perspective, as well as an awareness of norms to include all children and youth, particularly focusing on groups covered by anti-discrimination legislation, such as disabilities and LGBTQIA. As a person, you have personal maturity and can be a good role model for our children and youth. You have the ability to build trusting relationships and can set boundaries when needed.

The city of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at ensuring each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
