We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in pediatrics and adolescent medicine who wants to subspecialize in pediatric and adolescent neurology with habilitation. The position is based in Helsingborg, but approximately half of your training time will be spent at the Department of Pediatrics, Skåne University Hospital (Sus).

At the Children's Clinic in Helsingborg, we have an open climate with many competent and friendly colleagues. Here, there is an opportunity to work fully clinically, but we also have several research-active colleagues.

The Department of Pediatrics and Adolescents in the northwestern part of Skåne has outpatient services in Helsingborg, Landskrona, and Ängelholm. At the hospital in Helsingborg, there is a pediatric and adolescent emergency department, pediatric and adolescent ward, neonatal ward, and day care ward.

In total, we are about 300 employees within the department, and our patients range from premature infants to 18 years of age.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a future pediatric neurologist, you will work during your subspecialization both in Helsingborg and Lund, but your place of work after completing further education will be Helsingborg. This position is established in collaboration between the neurology section in Lund and the children's clinic in Helsingborg. In Helsingborg, you will work together with colleagues in the interdisciplinary neurology team to investigate, treat, and follow up children and adolescents with neurological diseases. You will have close cooperation with all units within the department.

Pediatric habilitation belongs to another administration but has a specialist in pediatric and adolescent neurology linked to it. At the clinic, we have a well-functioning group of doctors within both on-call and primary on-call lines. The cooperation between our units is good, and we have a strong sense of community.

At Sus, you will be placed in the pediatric and adolescent medical ward in Lund, neurological day care ward in Lund, and have specialized outpatient services in Lund and Malmö. The distribution will be approximately 50% in Helsingborg and 50% Sus during your training.

You will follow recommendations and goals from the Swedish Pediatric Neurology Association during your training to become a pediatric neurologist. Broadly speaking, you will serve in specialized pediatric neurology, pediatric habilitation, neurophysiology, and adult neurology. You can also do elective training in neurosurgery, genetics, or radiology depending on your preferences.

The main supervisor will be appointed from the pediatric neurology section in Lund, and the overall study director for the subspecialty for the southern healthcare region is also in Lund.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and have or are soon completing specialist training in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.

You are confident in your role as a physician and have the ability to understand the patient/family perspective with a holistic view. You have the ability to analyze and move forward in complex cases together with colleagues in the rest of the team. You are curious and keep yourself updated in your field and contribute to a good educational climate at the clinic.
