Within the area of urology, we have a clinic in Malmö and two wards where we conduct highly specialized urological services. Our patients are both men and women of varying ages who come to us due to diseases of the urinary tract. The care includes both benign and malignant conditions. Surgery ranges from minor procedures in the clinic to major pelvic surgery. Many patients require ongoing care, which provides good patient contact and continuity in care. A large patient group consists of neurological patients with bladder function impairment.

At the clinic, there are contact nurses specializing in prostate, bladder, kidney, and penile and testicular cancer. The urotherapy clinic is part of the Urology Clinic and is included in the Pelvic Floor Center at Skåne University Hospital. There is also a team of nurses who handle shock wave treatment for kidney stones (ESWL).

We have recently moved the Urology Clinic into completely new premises. Here we operate in modern, high-tech equipped facilities, which in itself presents an exciting challenge. In other words, you will have the opportunity to help shape a new clinic with new working methods.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you will gain broad knowledge and experience in our specialty. You will have the opportunity to work with stimulating tasks such as catheter placement, catheter care, wound care, and sample collection. The tasks include planning and caring for patients who come for examination and treatment at the clinic. You will assist doctors during minor urological surgeries. With us, we work according to the model of alternating shifts. This means that you will primarily be placed at the clinic but will work two of five weekends in one of our urological wards.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied according to previous or current program structures. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. If you have experience in surgical and/or urological care, it is an advantage.

As a person, you have a genuine interest in people and care, and together with your colleagues, you want to provide our patients with the best possible care. You have good communication skills and work well in collaboration with others. We would like you to be proactive and have the ability to handle unforeseen events well. We are keen to find the right person for the position and place great emphasis on personal suitability.
