Personal Assistant Wanted – Part-Time Position (15%)

At KSJ AB, we work with personal assistance – as it should be! Here you will meet Karin, Magnus, Sylvia, and Bibban, who have long experience, great commitment, and a heart for people. We know that good assistance is built on safety, respect, and close cooperation. With extensive and solid experience in personal assistance, both from large and medium-sized companies, we know what is required to create safety, continuity, and quality of life for our clients – but also for our important assistants.

As an employer, we care about your well-being. Therefore, we offer good conditions, are affiliated with collective agreements, and provide a generous wellness allowance. With us, you are important – both for the client and for us!

Feel free to visit us at Elbegatan 5 in Malmö – just check in first to ensure we are present.

To ensure safe and secure assistance, we conduct a background check if you become a candidate for the position. If the work involves assistance to children, you must also present an extract from the criminal record, in accordance with applicable legislation.

I am now looking for a new female personal assistant for my team. I am a woman living with several autoimmune diseases that manifest as pain, fatigue, reduced immune function, and gradually deteriorate my body. I move with the help of my electric wheelchair and live in a house with my family and my dog, so it is important that you feel comfortable in a family environment and are not afraid of dogs. I need someone who has experience working as an assistant or in healthcare and therefore I am only looking for a candidate who has references in this area.

My interests include crafting, taking care of the garden and plants, and caring for my dog. Some days I experience much more pain and need support to rest, take it easy, and have a safe and peaceful day. Other days I have less pain and appreciate an assistant who can contribute with inspiration, initiative, and companionship in everyday life. I absolutely must not be stressed, and one must be attentive to my health status as my condition can quickly deteriorate.

It is important that you, who work with me, do not have your own physical or mental barriers as you need to help me with transfers and also need to be able to take quick instructions and make sensible decisions when my health condition suddenly worsens.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support in daily activities at home such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry, as well as assistance with personal hygiene and clothing. During the day, you will assist me with hand support and transfers.
  • Help with rest and recovery on days with more pain.
  • If you enjoy being outdoors in the garden and forest and gardening, that is a big plus!
  • Help me take care of my dog, who is a family member to me. Therefore, you should not be afraid of dogs or have dog allergies.
  • You should also have a driver's license as I have an adapted car and we will run errands together.

We have a shadowing period at the beginning of the employment so that you can learn everything that is important and feel secure as my assistant. If you have experience as a nursing assistant, that is good as it includes some medication. There are of course routines and written information available.

You will join a cheerful group with mostly humor and laughter – but you must be able to switch to seriousness when something happens with my health condition and act wisely to help me. I am looking for a reliable person who stands firmly with both feet on the ground and can adapt to the situation. Being attentive and always putting my best interests first while working is essential.

I choose my assistants based on gut feeling and am very careful to get staff who want to understand my needs and manage things in my home as I wish. I especially promote open communication and honesty between us. Due to pain flare-ups, my communication may not function on certain days, and you should be able to adapt and work completely independently.

Working Hours

The position is 15% and is scheduled for the following shifts in a rolling four-week schedule:

  • Week 1: Friday 08:00-15:00
  • Week 2: Sunday 10:00-16:30
  • Week 3: Friday 08:00-16:30
  • Week 4: Tuesday 16:00-22:30

There is an opportunity for – and expectations that you will take – extra shifts during illness and vacation of other assistants in the workgroup.
