Kasam Treatment Families is now seeking a committed and secure youth counselor who wants to work closely with children, foster homes, and a multidisciplinary team with high specialist competence.

About the organization

Kasam Treatment Families provides consultant-supported foster care with a treatment focus. We work with children and adolescents with complex psychosocial issues, often in combination with trauma, neuropsychiatric difficulties, and relational problems. Our work is characterized by the best interests of the child, structure, long-term commitment, and quality.

Around each child is a team consisting of, among others, family therapists, DBT therapists, special educators, child representatives, and supervisors, where you as a youth counselor play a central role.

About the role

As a youth counselor, you work closely with the child/adolescent in their daily life and are responsible for implementing treatment and support measures based on the care plan and implementation plan.

The work may include:

• Individual support for children and adolescents
• Skills training (emotion regulation, social skills, structure)
• Relationship building and motivational work
• Collaboration with foster homes, schools, social services, and other stakeholders
• Documentation and follow-up according to current procedures
• Participation in treatment conferences and team meetings

The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with other functions in the team.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a social educator, social worker, or has equivalent education
• Has experience working with children and/or adolescents in vulnerable situations
• Has a good ability to create secure relationships and maintain calm in affect
• Is structured, responsible, and professional
• Enjoys working goal-oriented and results-oriented
• Has good collaboration skills but can also work independently

Meritorious:

• Experience with trauma, NPF, DBT, TMO, or similar methods
• Experience in foster care or HVB
• Driving license B
