The Department of Work and Welfare consists of Individual and Family Care, Support, Services and Housing, as well as Education, Welfare and Prevention. We are a total of about 300 employees who work salutogenically and solution-oriented with a knowledge base in scientifically grounded methods.
Our mission is to help and support individuals with social problems and/or disabilities, to work preventively and promote to counteract social exclusion and social problems, and through studies or employment find a way into working life towards self-sufficiency. From a child rights perspective, we help, support, and protect children and young people so that they can live and develop under good and safe conditions.
Placement: The Welfare Unit within the Department of Education, Welfare and Prevention (UFF).
Within the unit, we are eight employees who offer a workplace characterized by a holistic view towards our citizens, and we embrace the personal strengths of our employees. We place great emphasis on participation and collaboration. Our working method is based on a solution-focused approach, inclusion, and recognizing each individual's abilities. In addition to financial assistance, we are also responsible for receiving newcomers and providing budget and debt counseling.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The assignment within the Welfare Unit involves supporting individuals to become self-sufficient while investigating and assessing the right to financial assistance. We always strive to focus on what works for each individual and ensure that everyone receives individually tailored support in their planning towards self-sufficiency through studies or work. We place great emphasis on change work together with the individual.
In your work, you have great freedom to plan and carry out your work with substantial support from colleagues and management.
The assignment includes ongoing documentation in the operational system.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has a university degree including social law, which the employer assesses as equivalent. Previous experience of authority exercise within financial assistance is an advantage, but recent graduates are also welcome to apply for the position.
In your professional role, it is important that you have an interest in change work for a broad target group, have empathy, curiosity, responsiveness, and creativity in meeting the individuals we work for together. You should have a good ability to collaborate with both colleagues and the department's partners. The work requires a good ability to analyze, investigate, and assess as well as make legally secure decisions. Good communication and a lack of pretentiousness are important for us to succeed together in our mission. We are looking for someone who takes initiative and can drive the work forward independently. You have a coaching approach and enjoy supporting and inspiring others. You should also want to be involved in developing the future social services within financial assistance.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, that you have good knowledge of Swedish and a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing.
A B driver's license is required for the position.
