Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding and are now looking for more employees.
Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transports.
The Transport Department (TA) is tasked with transporting and supervising detained individuals. These are Kriminalvården's clients who are moved between remand prisons and correctional facilities, to court hearings, and hospitals, among other places. TA also transports detained individuals for the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care, the Migration Agency, and psychiatry. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for you who want an educational and developing summer position at the Transport Department in Gothenburg.
As a correctional officer within TA, you will be part of a team consisting of two to four people, where everyone is responsible for different roles in carrying out client transports. You will encounter a wide variety of clients of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. You will search, restrain with handcuffs, and supervise the client during transport.
TA's assignments are varied, which means that your working hours may vary from day to day. Evening and weekend work may be included. The times in the schedule are frame times, usually 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Nationally, it is more common to finish before the frame time ends, and in most cases, you have an unchanged start time. Frame time means that the employer can change the start and end times. Changes are communicated before the previous shift ends. For example, a shift may be between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM (12 hours) or 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (7 hours).
We wish for you to be available for a 2-week continuous introduction during daytime in the spring. You will receive a salary throughout the training period. The planned start is week 23.
