Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The Transport Department (TA) is tasked with transporting and supervising detained individuals. These are Kriminalvården's clients who are moved between remand and prisons, to court hearings, and hospitals, among others. TA also transports detained individuals for example on behalf of the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care, the Migration Agency, and psychiatry. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part-time correctional officer within TA, you will be part of a team consisting of two to four people, where everyone is responsible for different roles in the execution of client transports. You will encounter a wide variety of clients of varying ages, with different backgrounds and experiences. You will search, restrain with handcuffs, and supervise the client during transport.

TA's assignments are varied, which means that your working hours may vary from shift to shift. Work shifts are booked in advance in agreement with you. You will have a fixed start time for each shift, but the end time will vary depending on the scope and length of the assignment. The most common working hours are between 08:00 and 17:00, but other times may occur depending on the needs of the operation. Therefore, you need to be flexible in your availability.

At the start of your employment, you need to be available for two weeks of continuous daytime training. You will receive a salary during the entire training period.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role places high demands on personal suitability. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operation, so you need to have good collaboration skills and be clear in your communication. It is important that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in the potential for human development and change. You need to have good physical fitness to handle a sedentary job and to act physically when required.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant.
• Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
• Good computer skills.
• Driving license B and good driving experience.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Work experience in relevant fields, such as corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, healthcare, and service professions.
• Knowledge in relevant areas, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• Other relevant language skills.
• Driving license C.

OTHER

Kriminalvården has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position. The answers to the selection questions and CV will form the basis for whether you are qualified to proceed in the process.
