At the probation service in Gothenburg, we are about 300 employees working in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's building on Ullevigatan and another probation office located in Rosenlund, next to Feskekörka and a few minutes' walk from Järntorget.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The probation service in Gothenburg currently has offices on Ullevigatan in Gothenburg and another office at Rosenlund. This advertisement is for those who want to work at the probation service on Ullevigatan in a role focused on security and surveillance, which also includes client contact. As a correctional officer at the Ullevi probation service, you can expect to contribute to a safer society. In this role, you are the face of the probation service and the first person visitors will meet at the office. The tasks include ensuring secure entry at the probation office, staffing the reception, and other security-related tasks. Technical support and office services are also included to some extent in the role. You will work in a team with correctional officers and have close collaboration with probation inspectors and administrators. Correctional officers at our Ullevi office also spend part of their working hours on standby for enforcement with electronic monitoring, follow-up of enforcement with electronic monitoring through home visits and workplace visits, as well as community service checks.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role demands high personal suitability. As a correctional officer in probation, you need to be secure, stable, have good judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operations, so you need to have good collaboration skills and be clear in your communication. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others, striving to deliver solutions.

It is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to equal treatment for all through your approach. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

For some tasks, laws and regulations require that they be performed by a person of the same gender as the client, so we must maintain a balanced gender distribution in the group.

Requirements

• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Driver's license (B)
• Good computer skills

Meritorious

• Experience in security control/access
• Current experience in client-facing work, such as correctional officer or other relevant client-facing experience as deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Relevant work experience in any of the areas of correctional services, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare
• Language skills beyond Swedish
