The role of economist with us

As an economist with us in the Department of Individual and Family Care, you will have a varied and meaningful role where your contribution truly makes a difference. We are looking for someone who not only has a good grasp of numbers but can also see the bigger picture and interpret connections with an analytical eye. You will be a central part of our work to prevent, combat, and detect welfare fraud.

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting qualified economic analyses.
Supporting the administration in financial processes together with your colleagues.
Working with year-end closing, forecasting, and budgeting.
Developing and following up on internal control systems.
Collaborating with caseworkers, managers, and external actors to strengthen the fight against welfare fraud.
Contributing to training initiatives and knowledge enhancement within the administration.
Identifying patterns, deviations, and risks in financial flows.

Your profile

You are a responsive and curious person who easily adapts to your surroundings. With a pedagogical approach, you explain economic connections in a clear and engaging manner. You appreciate close dialogue with our unit managers and see financial follow-up as an important part of our joint development work. Your communication skills allow you to tailor your message to both the recipient and the situation. We see that you are proactive, build new contacts, and nurture existing relationships. You take responsibility for your tasks and work in a structured and analytical way to achieve results. You have the ability to prioritize effectively, see opportunities in change, and are happy to contribute new perspectives on work-related issues. You are an experienced system user and can easily learn new systems. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as this is required in daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

A relevant higher education degree in economics at least at the bachelor's level.
Good knowledge of Excel and financial systems (from education or experience).

It is an advantage if you have:

Relevant experience from public administration.
Worked to combat welfare fraud.

Our offer and additional information

We offer a fixed-term full-time employment from 2026-02-02 to 2027-02-28. The employment is a temporary position with a chance for extension.
