ABOUT THE POSITION

Envirotainer was founded in 1985 and currently has over 10,000 active temperature-controlled containers worldwide. In addition to your immediate team, you will also collaborate with production, maintenance organization, other engineering teams, and purchasing, reporting to the Head of Design & Mechanics.

A few words from your future immediate manager

"Hello! My name is Karl, and I am the head of our mechanical design group, which works with mechanical constructions and mechanical issues for our products. I have been with the company since 2011 in various roles within R&D. Sometimes I get asked what has made me stay so long at Envirotainer, and my answer is that it never gets boring here. We are on a constant journey of development, and there is always something to dive into. It’s a feeling that makes me, and my team, look forward to coming to work every day."

You are offered

  • The opportunity to work with a highly socially important product - Our cooling containers transport life-saving medications, and your work is a crucial part of ensuring access to vital medications worldwide.
  • Proximity to the entire chain – You work closely with development, production, purchasing, and maintenance, with direct access to those who build and service the products.
  • Influence – Here you will have the opportunity to drive and make important technical decisions where you are both expected and given space to navigate between many different stakeholders, stand by your assessment, and drive the work forward.
  • Development opportunities – Here you will have the chance to contribute your expertise in a company that is constantly maturing and evolving. You will help build structures, set standards, and working methods, and we look forward to welcoming you with your knowledge!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

For this role, we are looking for someone with both experience and interest in contributing your technical expertise in various types of mechanics-related issues where the role combines operational engineering work with technical leadership. You will become a central knowledge bearer who contributes both your own design efforts and investigations but primarily focuses on developing the group's working methods and our competence. We use various design strategies depending on our current needs. Sometimes the focus is on low manufacturing costs and simple production, other times on functionality, reparability, or flexibility. A central part of our development is also to achieve a good balance between weight and function since our products are transported by air. We actively work to minimize weight for both performance and climate reasons.

You will, for example…

  • Function as a technical leader and mentor within your technical area and provide advice and support to designers in the team.
