We share premises with the primary school at Fjärding and Boda. Students in grades 1-6 have their schooling and after-school activities in the premises of Fjärdingskolan, while students in grades 7-9 have their teaching and short-term supervision (KTS) in the premises of Bodaskolan.

Teamwork is a cornerstone of our operations. We work in supportive teams where we help each other, share responsibilities, and see each other's competencies as an asset.

Teaching Assistant at Adapted Primary School Fjärding 1-9 Job Responsibilities

In your role as a teaching assistant with us, you are not only a safe and skilled adult, but you are also an obvious and significant part of a team where everyone plays an important role in the student's learning, development, and well-being.

As a teaching assistant, you support the student in all situations - from the moment the student arrives at school until the school day ends. The assignment involves providing support in teaching, contributing to structure and safety, and adapting methods and environments according to the student's individual needs. You will be part of a class team consisting of teachers and several resources, where collaboration and shared responsibility are central. As a teaching assistant, you are as important as everyone else in the team and are expected to actively contribute to a good collaborative climate.

In addition to being a resource during school hours, you also work at the after-school center and/or in short-term supervision (KTS). At the after-school center, you are part of a leisure team together with preschool teachers and other resources, and together you are responsible for a group of students.

The work as a teaching assistant is varied and practical. You support the students in their daily lives, which may involve helping with personal care such as toilet visits and changing clothes. The work may also include actively participating in teaching moments such as swimming and bathing activities, where you may need to enter the water for support. In all situations, you work with respect for the student's integrity.

We are primarily looking for someone with a high school diploma, such as a child and leisure program, nursing program, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. It is desirable that you have experience working with people in need of support, for example from adapted primary school or care-related work. We also see it as a positive if you have experience with NPF.

To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to have a strong student focus and share our values where respect, dignity, and a professional approach permeate the work. You see each student as an individual with their own conditions and needs and adapt your working methods accordingly. You are flexible and adaptable and can handle changes in everyday life with calm and security, always with the student's best interests in focus. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with both educators and other staff. At the same time, you are confident in taking responsibility in all situations of daily life.

The role requires you to be professional and capable of safeguarding the student's integrity. You are brave, curious, and self-reflective - you dare to pause, consider your own approach, and view situations from the student's perspective.

As the work is partly active and may involve lifting, we see that you have good physical condition. It is an advantage if you have a B driver's license.
